Ekannt’s musical journey began when his early passion for music took him to the Calcutta School of Music in 1999 to study music further. He won the most prestigious Governors Trophy in 2001 and 2002 successively. After completing his grade 8 examination under the Trinity College, London, in December 2002, he was appointed teacher at The Calcutta School of Music in 2003.

Runner up in the Goa International Guitar Festival organized by Guitar Guild Goa in 2006.

First prize in the National Classical Guitar Competition in Bangalore in 2009 organized by the Spanish embassy.

Performed in the Cordoba Guitar Festival, Spain, 2010.

Artist and jury member in The Thailand International Guitar Festival, 2015.

Performed and judged at several music festivals and concerts in Europe, India and South East Asia.

Former Joint Head of Department (Western Section), at The Calcutta School of Music.

Director of the Calcutta International Classical Guitar Festival 2010.

Co-founder and the past president of The Calcutta Classical Guitar Society.

He has worked in several feature films, ad films and documentaries, like the International award winning film and winner of the Vivel Film Fare award for the best background score in "Phoring" with the music direction of Prabudhha Banerjee.

His first solo classical guitar album recorded and published in India called ''Memoirs'' from Girona entertainment, has given a new sound and experience to the music lovers of India.
